bonita springs: day three

Today the weather was beautiful. We headed to Naples Botanic Gardens. We were able to go for free since we are members of Chicago Botanic Gardens. It was really nice. They had a great children's garden where we spent most of our time.

There was a tree house to climb in.

Chairs and umbrellas for relaxing and eating.

A water pump and watering cans to water the flowers.

And a great water feature that Adeline got soaked in. Some Florida residents walked by and asked if we were from Alaska. They said no one from Florida would have been playing in that fountain.

There was an area in the Gardens where you could play Bocce ball...or run around bare foot! So fun!

What a great day.

bonita springs: day two

It was a little warmer today and very sunny, so we started our day with a walk on the beach.

There were SO many shells!

All tuckered out and ready for a nap.

Later in the afternoon we went to a nearby mall...mostly to used the internet at Panera. I took Adeline for a walk around the mall and she fell asleep in her stroller. It was an outdoor mall, so I enjoyed walking outside with a t-shirt on. I saw this little play area while I was walking, but Adeline was asleep. After she woke up, we had some ice cream and headed to the play area. It was really cute and there was only one other child there. I guess that's what happens when you are in retirement central!

bonita springs: day one

We woke up and had some waffles.

Then did a little unpacking.

Today was a little chilly, but way better than the weather in Chicago. We did some grocery shopping and then drove to Fort Myers to pick up a pack n play we found on Craig's list. While there we stopped by Sun Harvest Citrus. They had samples of delicious juices and oranges.

our vacation begins

Tonight we flew to Florida. Our flight was at 8:15pm and we thought Adeline would fall asleep. No such luck. She was awake the whole time, but was a pretty good girl. She was talking to everyone and making everyone smile.

The older lady in front of us was not too amused by Adeline, however. It only got worse when Adeline dropped this apple onto her head. Oopsie!

We got a nice upgrade on our rental car thanks to USAA! We got this Nissan Rogue with 9 miles on it.

She was asleep before we even pulled out of the parking garage!

I came around the corner in the kitchen to find Adeline sitting quietly in the corner playing with this toy. So cute!

sunday afternoon at the children's museum

Mike was out of town this weekend, so Olivia spent some time with us. Today she wanted to go to Kohl Children's Museum and couldn't wait for Adeline to wake up from her nap so that we could go. We called Courtney, and she met us there. We got there an hour before closing, but we still had a lot of fun.

Auntie Courtney painted Adeline's face...a pink mustache and goatee! Nice!

Afterward, we tried out a new McDonald's. They had this cool piano slide that played music when you climbed on it.
