eight weeks old

Adeline is eight weeks old today. She celebrated by going to tea with the girls. She was a great baby...she slept through the whole thing. Easy for me, but disappointing for abbie who would have liked to play with her.

I love this girl.

Her daddy loves her too.

meeting new friends

Abbie and Chris Olson came home from Japan for Christmas. Abbie met Adeline for the first time at church on Sunday. Abbie cried...that made me cry. It was beautiful. I was so happy to have my girl meet Auntie Abbie. Our friends Neil and Erika are in town for Christmas too. We were able to meet their new little girl Karalee. Karalee and Adeline were born on the same day. It's always fun to introduce Adeline to new friends.

christmas 2009

The Rummelhoff Grandchildren
Allie, Leah, Morgan and Adeline

Love that smile and the Mecher squinty eyes.

Adeline and I went to the Botanic Gardens Winter Wonderland with the Stroms. The lights were amazing. Adeline slept the whole time.

This is how Adeline and I went out to shovel the snow.

Emmett and Adeline.

I think this is such a cute picture of Emmett.

The dress that Adeline is wearing was Courtney's when she was a baby.

The Mechers...we missed you Condaps. Kyle and Jenny joined us later.

She couldn't open any of the presents herself, but she sure was smiley.

We went to visit Michael's friend Joey and his parents. Here is Adeline with her Indian Grandma and Uncle Joey.

our smiley baby

Adeline is seven weeks old today. We are having such a great time with her. She is so smiley now and she even laughs from time to time. She is a real joy to us. Having my own baby gives me a new perspective on Christmas. To think that Jesus, our Savior, came as a tiny, helpless baby blows my mind.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of our girl from the past few weeks.

I love this sweet face.

As I said before, we call Olivia our nanny. She is great with Adeline and will spend as much time taking care of her as she can. The other night we went shopping and Olivia was dying to carry Adeline in the Baby Bjorn. We got lots of double takes from people. Most people were unsure if she was carrying a doll or a real baby.

Adeline and I went over to help my mom with some Christmas wrapping. The Cowboys game was on, so Adeline watched that with her Poppa. She was clearly very interested in the game. But it was a good night for the Cowboys...they beat the undefeated Saints. I had to take Adeline away from Poppa before the end of the game so that he could celebrate.

Lots of smiles in the morning. This sleeper is a hand-me-down from the Condap girls. It's my favorite. Adeline looks so cute and cozy in it.

(I don't know why this is sideways)
See how much she loves her Mom and Dad.

I love those cheeks.

Adeline got this super fancy dress from Mike's aunt. She wore it to church on Sunday and everybody loved it. We think she looked like a cupcake.

one month old & uncle colby

Today Adeline is one month old. It's hard to believe it's been a whole month. We are enjoying being her parents. She is such a precious little girl. I love holding her and having her fall asleep in my arms. I would lay with her on my chest all day long if I could. Mike's been great. He takes her when she won't calm down. I am so thankful for that.

Asleep in the car on our way to visit Uncle Colby.

Grayden gave Adeline these shoes. They are so cute.

My brother Colby had surgery yesterday to correct a severe underbite. We went to visit him today. His mouth is wired shut to keep everything in place. He is a real trooper. Keep him in your prayers as he recovers. His mouth will stay wired shut for 4-6 weeks. I'm hoping for four weeks.

Colby's new profile. Don't be fooled by the shadow behind his chin. I'm thankful that he still looks like Colby...just a little different. We love you Colby. Get better soon.

Adeline couldn't go visit Uncle Colby, so she made a few videos to show him how much she loves him.

thanksgiving camp

We traveled up to Covenant Point Bible Camp to spend Thanksgiving week with my mom's side of the family. erin, Jim and the girls drove in from New Hampshire, so that made it extra special. It was such a great week of just relaxing and being with family. I did a whole lot of sitting around with my baby in my arms. It was wonderful.
Adeline was a great traveler.

So happy to meet auntie erin and to see Uncle Colby again.

The usual place to find Adeline was asleep on somebody. Olivia could have stayed like this all day.

TWINS!
My mom made these sweaters for Emmett and Adeline.

Tammy had some days when she couldn't move too much, but holding a sleeping baby was no problem.

Sweaters.

The Mecher clan

On Thanksgiving day it snowed a little bit. This was the first time that Mei had seen snow. Her reaction to the "dusting" of snow that fell was priceless. She thought it was so much snow. She even was able to make and throw a few snowballs.

It was Adeline's first time seeing snow too, but the impact wasn't quite the same.

The grandkids

Mei picked out this outfit for Adeline before she was born. Would have been interesting if she had been a boy.
