a fun day with the family

Today was Family Day. We originally planned on going to the zoo, but since the weather was so crummy, we had to come up with a new plan. We decided to head to the Garfield Park Conservatory. It was a great place for the kids to walk around and to check out all the crazy names of the plants.

Auntie Courtney asked for pigtails today, so this is what we gave her.

Our next stop was Molly's cupcakes. We each got a cupcake and they were delicious. The place was really cute. They had swings as their bar stools. The kids really loved that.

Final stop, back to Leamington for coloring eggs. Adeline had a good time and had stained hands for a few days afterward.

Allie and Adeline have a special relationship because they are only seven months apart and they live in the same building. There is not a day that goes by that Adeline doesn't ask for "Allie! Allie!"

My siblings are all in town, so my parent's had the whole Christiansen clan over for Sunday lunch. Here is a picture of Mor Mor with all the great-grandchildren.

We had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard. Adeline did pretty good at it. She wasn't too fast, but she did get the idea of picking up the eggs and putting them in her bag.

This is the treat that Adeline picked out of her bag. It was wrapped in shiny green foil. I kept trying to get her to play with the plastic eggs, but she was fixated on the shiny green egg. She peeled all the foil off herself and proceeded to eat the entire egg.

It started out okay...

...but ended up very messy!

We met Courtney and the boys at Chuck E. Cheese's. I tried to take the boys there once when Courtney and Erik were on a retreat. The problem was we went on a Saturday afternoon and there was a line out the door. We left that day, but I promised the boys we would go back another time when it wasn't so busy. So we went today. Caleb and Jackson were actually there, I guess I didn't take any pictures of them. We had a lot of fun. We didn't waste our money on the food there, just played the games and rode the rides. Adeline and Emmett would have stayed on the Merry-Go-Round all day.
