one month old & uncle colby

Today Adeline is one month old. It's hard to believe it's been a whole month. We are enjoying being her parents. She is such a precious little girl. I love holding her and having her fall asleep in my arms. I would lay with her on my chest all day long if I could. Mike's been great. He takes her when she won't calm down. I am so thankful for that.

Asleep in the car on our way to visit Uncle Colby.

Grayden gave Adeline these shoes. They are so cute.

My brother Colby had surgery yesterday to correct a severe underbite. We went to visit him today. His mouth is wired shut to keep everything in place. He is a real trooper. Keep him in your prayers as he recovers. His mouth will stay wired shut for 4-6 weeks. I'm hoping for four weeks.

Colby's new profile. Don't be fooled by the shadow behind his chin. I'm thankful that he still looks like Colby...just a little different. We love you Colby. Get better soon.

Adeline couldn't go visit Uncle Colby, so she made a few videos to show him how much she loves him.

thanksgiving camp

We traveled up to Covenant Point Bible Camp to spend Thanksgiving week with my mom's side of the family. erin, Jim and the girls drove in from New Hampshire, so that made it extra special. It was such a great week of just relaxing and being with family. I did a whole lot of sitting around with my baby in my arms. It was wonderful.
Adeline was a great traveler.

So happy to meet auntie erin and to see Uncle Colby again.

Cousin Jenna

Cousin Kira

Kira and Olivia with the littlest cousins.

The usual place to find Adeline was asleep on somebody. Olivia could have stayed like this all day.

TWINS!
My mom made these sweaters for Emmett and Adeline.

Tammy had some days when she couldn't move too much, but holding a sleeping baby was no problem.

Sweaters.

The Mecher clan

On Thanksgiving day it snowed a little bit. This was the first time that Mei had seen snow. Her reaction to the "dusting" of snow that fell was priceless. She thought it was so much snow. She even was able to make and throw a few snowballs.

It was Adeline's first time seeing snow too, but the impact wasn't quite the same.

The grandkids

Mei picked out this outfit for Adeline before she was born. Would have been interesting if she had been a boy.

more adeline

Asleep with Daddy

Four days old.
First visit to Dr. Schwab

My boss, Dr. Ismail. He says Adeline is his fourth grandchild. He took very good care of us.

Mike started growing out his beard the day we found out I was pregnant. This is the final product. He has since shaved, but I don't have any pictures of that yet.

Five days old.
Sisters and their babies. Emmett and Adeline are six weeks apart.

It was really warm for November, so we took Adeline for her first walk and even got to use her new stroller.

Six days old.
This is my grandma Bernice Adeline. She turned 88 on the day that our little Adeline was born. I was so glad that Adeline came on her due date so that she and my grandma could share a birthday. My grandma is one special lady and our prayer is that our Adeline would grow up to be a godly woman just like her great-grandma.

My grandma makes these blankets for each of the babies in the family. This one was made especially for my first born and had been waiting in a plastic bag in my grandmas closet. On the day that I told my grandma I was pregnant, she gave this to me.

This was Adeline's first time at church. Here she is with my small group girls. They are excited for the newest member of our small group...but now we need a bigger car if we want to go out.

Grayden gave Adeline this pink outfit and her bear jacket. Thanks Gray for keeping our girl warm and looking good.

One week old.
First trip to Gramma and Poppa's house.

Asleep in her co-sleeper bed in her big crib. I think she is just too small to sleep in that big crib all by herself.

Mike got creative with the camera and Adeline's night light.

Ten days old.
This is our nanny Olivia. She takes great care of Adeline, but would like her to sleep less and be awake more.

Olivia and Adeline take a walk to CVS...just the first trip of many for little Adeline.

sorry for the delay

Our internet at home has been goofy since getting home from the hospital, hence the long delay in updating. We have been enjoying having Adeline home with us. Crazy that our lives are completely changed because of this little girl. We love her so much.

This was our first "family photo." She looks really happy to have us as parents, huh?

After 48 hours of antibiotics for an elevated white blood cell count, Adeline was able to go home. This is her first outfit since we could not really put her in clothes with all her wires and IV. Here she is free from all attachments and dressed in her pink outfit. Her legs were a little long for the newborn pants though.

So happy to finally be able to hold my baby without worrying about wires and her IV tubing and to be able walk more than five feet away from the monitors.

Ready to go home!

We were greeted with fabulous decorations when we got home.
