praise God for his protection

Our drive home from Cincinnati was very eventful. The weather was horrible...snow, strong winds, occasional white outs. Adeline was a great traveler. She fell asleep as soon as we got in the car and napped for over two hours. She woke up just in time for the "excitement" though. The roads were covered in snow and everyone was driving slowly. Then a foolish driver in a small car decided to try to pass in the far right lane. He lost control and started swerving. He was perpendicular to us right in front of us. I braced myself for a crash, but Mike was able to swerve out of the way. We started fish-tailing, however, and we were headed for the ditch on the right side. Mike was able to get the car under control and we ended up sideways half way on the shoulder and half way in the right lane. Cars had to swerve to keep from hitting us. When I realized that we were spared from a crash, I started crying and thanking God for protecting us. It could have been so bad. Adeline was unfazed. She was just smiling from her car seat. That made my heart melt. My precious baby! I am so glad that we were safe. Thank you to everyone who was praying for us.

cincinnati

We traveled to Cincinnati for Mike's brother David's graduation from University of Cincinnati. We had a great weekend with all the Rummelhoffs. Congratulations David!

We made a trip to Graeter's ice cream shop. Adeline wasn't content being fed ice cream, she wanted to hold the cone. So, I gave her the cone with a little bit of ice cream in it and she went to town. She loved it and everyone in the place loved watching her. It got pretty messy once the ice cream started melting, but she didn't care.

(I know she looks like a ragamuffin with her hair in her eyes, but her face is so cute!)

first snowfall of the season

There was fresh snow today, so I got out Adeline's sled and took her for a ride. She loved it. I'm excited to be able to take her out on more rides this winter. It's very different from the couple of rides I took her on last year.

a day with cousins

Esther and I took the five girls to Old Orchard and met up with Courtney and the three boys. We played on the dragon and then headed over to the Chalet where they have live reindeer.

Emmett...so cute!

Our attempts at a group picture.

hippo pajamas

My brown eyed girl!

I bought these hippo pajamas YEARS ago when they had them at gymboree. I bought a newborn size too which Kira wore originally but has since been passed among the cousins. Adeline wore them when she was a newborn and now Sawyer is wearing them. I think Adeline looks so skinny in these.

Check out those chompers!

daredevil

This is Adeline's new "trick." However, this is one trick that we do not encourage. Usually she does it facing forward, but since she was facing backward I sneaked a picture for documentation purposes. When she does it, she is so proud of herself. She'll just look at you with the biggest grin on her face. What a stinker!

fall saturday

I took a bunch of photos of Adeline to try to get some for a Christmas card.

Tonight I wanted to go out for dinner. I felt like we hadn't been out to eat for awhile, so we went to Pepe's Mexican Restaurant. This little girl may look cute, but she sure made our dinner out very unenjoyable. By the time dessert came, I was packing up Adeline and taking her outside. I guess we are going to have to work on her restaurant manners.
